Kindergarten Registration

My baby is on her way! Today she officially enrolled in the Wake County School System! Where did the last 4.5 yrs go?
Right now I'm actually looking forward to sending her to kindergarten, probably because I'm exhausted, but mainly because she is so excited to go. I'm sure though when the bus rolls into the neighborhood in Aug, I'll be the mommy clinging to her trying to talk her into homeschooling, yeah right!!

Sex Survey

So John and I heard an interesting statistic on Good Morning America this week. I think John almost choked on his Oatmeal Raisin Crisp....
it went something like this. When surveyed guys would be willing to give up sex for 6months in exchange for a new 50 inch plasma TV. 6 months!!!!! Wow!!!!!My guy didn't take the bait, would yours?

Packing Party

Last Sunday John worked all day and the weather was cool so I decided to get a head start on packing and attacked the kitchen. 5 hours of constant wrapping and taping with very little to show it seemed. But.....what the hell was I thinking anyway, not hiring the movers to do all the packing, like in our last move. I guess I figured I could put the $1800 it would have cost to a better use : ) I also have an annoying character trait of not letting things hang over my head. It worked well in college when I had a paper due. I was the one that went home and wrote the paper that night even if it wasn't due for 2 weeks. Procastination is not me! So here i sit with almost 2 weeks til the actual move.....80% of the house is packed......i'm feeling good.....although I forgot I was going to need cookie cutters for Sophia's Vday party - packed, vase for my Vday rose - vases packed, nightly book for the girls before bed - all packed , running out of checks, - oops already packed. This is a no-win situation!!
So while i was busy wrapping my fine china(ha!) and drinking wine on a Sunday afternoon(a must while packing), my sweet, well behaved(for the moment) daughters were entertaining themselves by styling their My Little Ponies. Here is the finished product. They were so proud!

707 Cambridge Hall Loop Cary, NC

The saga is over we finally have a house. New construction for the 4th time in 6 years! Luckily our street is all done though so we won't have to deal with constant building around us. We love this house, it has everything we've ever wanted in a house. Big screened in deck, huge front porch, a big(well big for here), flat backyard, awesome kitchen, i'm finally going to have my gas range! its 5bdrms so we have plenty of room for company hint, hint. the kids have a great playroom with a door now! and John even has his own bonus room to escape to the TV. dual shower heads in the master bath : ) , front and back staircases, a walk up 3rd floor that can be finished off for more room, right now it'll just be used for storage something we are lacking here at this house. the majority of houses here in NC don't have basements. so a 3rd floor is common. theres's a great playground and small pool just a block down the street and a pond in the back of the neighborhood.
the house isn't far from the one we are currently in but its a little closer to Cary where everything is, and its across the street from a park the girls and I always go to. We can pick up sidewalks as soon as we leave our neighborhood so John and I will have lots of running options. No more scary country road running.
So let me know when you are all coming to visit : ) Remember there is no snow here! It was actually in the 60's this weekend. Summer is just around the corner here if you need an escape.

30 ain't so bad

On a lighter note as I was surfing the web this morning I couldn't help but click on some celebrity gossip, something i very rarely do, i swear! But with the latest stresses of mortgage rates, house hunting, packing, kindergarten options (next post), I thought I deserved some mindless jargon. The first interesting thing I found was an article about Katharine McPhee, remember her the American Idol contestant. Anyway I can't believe it, the girl has me beat! Here is a picture of the newlyweds. Guess her husband is 19 years older than her. Loved her comment about it "I love [older men]," she has said. "They're just wiser, and they're less about themselves and more about you."

Hmmmm.......My thoughts exactly : ) Lucky for me my old man is a hell of a lot hotter than hers. What was she thinking? He must really be into her like she states.

So I have my older 40ish husband, he's shy about his age : ) and funny enough my other 2 loves are exactly my age. Read this morning that my #2 turned 30 this week. And of course numero uno is 30 also. Maybe 30 isn't such a bad age. I'm liking the company.

By the way what is Tom thinking Giselle is ugly! Yeah and Demi she's kinda old for you Ashton.

sophia just cracked me up she's been watching me type this and asked "are those neighbor boys coming over to our house?" i could go for neighbors like them, maybe the in the next 'hood!

House Number 3

Well we finally found ourselves a new house. Its beautiful and perfect for us, once again. I'm going over to take pictures of it later this morning so I'll post them soon. Trying not to get too excited about this house though until I have keys in hand. : ) If all goes as planned we will be closing on both properties Feb 28. Keep your fingers crossed for us....

Housing Hassles

so lets see we have 20 days til closing on our house and still have no where to go. the last 2 weeks have been hell!!! i swear i've never slept so little in my life. talk about a desperate need for beauty sleep!! no more blog pictures of me, think i've aged 10 years this Feb : )
Anyway quick update.... I've packed half our house here, we're ready to go, to run from here in fact. But unfortunately we are trapped and in a hold mode waiting for a relocation company to sign us off our previous contract.
So much for a buyers market and having the upper hand, lots of choices, etc. It ain't so down here. At least not for us.

1st house (2 weeks ago, feels like 2 years ago) - we loved, lots of land(for down here), awesome location, beautiful brick house, 2 years old, 3 floors, etc. we lost out in a bidding war even after putting in the higher bid. relo company chose the other buyer who had cash in hand, while we are still waiting to close. that was crushing! especially for john as he constantly referred to it as his dream home.

2nd house(9 days ago) - ok so we were believing that things happen for a reason and were feeling lucky that we lost the first house. 2nd house was in a more beautiful neighborhood, one that even had some trees! great house had everything i wanted, big wrap around porch, long flat driveway, a backyard for jackson. etc. we finally negotiated the price down and signed the deal. Monday on a Septic Inspection the whole thing fell apart. Lots of problem and we had to get out.
We are currently awaiting the relocation's signature so we can get our earnest money back and put in an offer on another house. Without their sign off we can't buy anything else, its ridiculous.

Movin Out

Gosh its been awhile since I posted about John's job. I forgot to include that we did end up selling our house right after we got back from Disney. Actually lets see its been probably 3 weeks since we've sold and 3 weeks since I've last cleaned the house : ) Thank God for no more showings. So we're finally getting out of this wacky neighborhood, we can not wait. I have several more crazy stories for all of you, good laughs at least but scary to think we actually live amongst these people. So anyway we are crossing our fingers that the next house/neighborhood is more "normal".

Movin' Up

We are counting our blessings this week! Finally have some news to share. John was promoted Friday. Starting March 1 he will be the new Pharmacy Operations Manager for Harris Teeter, overseeing 40 stores in a 2 hr. radius. He is really excited about the new position as it ultimately gets him out from behind the pharmacy counter as well as grants him an opportunity to show off his management strategies, and make his way up the corporate ladder. Not to mention all its other perks, benefits, etc. over his current pharmacist position. So obviously the move to NY isn't happening anymore. Sad, as I was really looking forward to being so much closer to some great friends and family. On the other hand though once you've had a taste of life without the cold and snow its so hard to think aobut going back. We're hoping to make our way up North this Spring for a visit, its been awhile! And of course you are all welcome here in NC anytime we'd love to see you!
