school applications

filled out the school application again this year to get sophia's school switched. last year we were denied and she was forced to attend a traditional calendar school about 7 miles from home. she's getting tired of riding the bus for 45 mins and i'm not impressed with the school's performance so we are trying for the better, year-round, much closer option.
if she gets in she will be on one of four tracks. most of the schools down here have converted to the track scheduling, as opposed to the traditional(summer offs schedule). if she gets into the year round school she will go 9 weeks and then have 3 weeks off continuing all year long. i'm not sure how i will like that schedule but most people are very happy with it. it would be like xmas break plus a week 4 times a year.
we'll see what happens.

The schools here are on a year-round calendar (10 weeks on, 2 weeks off, with a longer summer break at Christmas) and so far, I really like it. It's nice to be able to plan for longer breaks throughout the year and a month and a half off for summer seems just right. Hope everything works out for you!

How does Phia like the 'new' school? Would she be missing her friends that she has now?
She is young enough to easily switch I'm sure, a 45 minute bus ride sounds awful and makes for a very long day. I'm glad we can pick up the kids by bike (but the bus is easier for the parents I guess ;)
